IFS - Indian Forest Service Exam 2025
UPSC conducts Indian Forest Services Exam for recruitment to forestry services of India. From 2013, exam pattern has changed. A new component of screening mechanism through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination has been added.
If you are applying for Indian Forests Service examination, then you are required to appear in the civil services (preliminary) examination and qualify the same for going to the second stage of Indian Forests Services main examination (written and interview).
Important Dates
- Date of Notification: 22 January, 2025
- Last Date to Apply: 11 February, 2025
- Date of Exam (CSAT): 25 May, 2025
- IFS Main Exam: From 16 November, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
Age: Your age must be between 21 years 32 years on 1st August of the year of exam. Upper age limit is relaxable in some cases.
Education: You must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects - Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.
Number of Attempts: Six attempts not applicable in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe.
